An Online UPS (double-conversion UPS) continuously converts incoming AC power to DC and back to AC, supplying your equipment with regulated power at all times rather than switching over only when mains power fails.

The UPS continuously rectifies incoming utility power to DC, charges the battery, and inverts it back to clean AC output. Because the load is always running off the inverter, there is no transfer time when utility power is lost.
